Airlite Plastics Co. Role as a Critical Infrastructure Industry
On March 16th, the President issued updated Coronavirus Guidance for America. This guidance states that: “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”
As a packaging manufacturer for our nation’s food supply, pharmaceutical, and healthcare companies, Airlite Plastics Co, recognizes our responsibility as Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers. We are on a mission to fulfill our responsibility to our nation and our communities during this time of extreme need. We will continue to operate our manufacturing facilities in Nebraska, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Nevada. we will supply our customers with the critical components they need to fulfill their responsibilities to keep our grocery shelves full, and ship both pharmaceuticals and food directly to those that need it.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) released guidance on March 19th, 2020 outlining the “initial list of ‘Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers’ to help State and local officials as they work to protect their communities, while ensuring continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security.” Airlite qualifies as Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers under a number of designated areas, namely Food & Agriculture, Transportation & Logistics, and Critical Manufacturing.
Our role is twofold. First, to keep our employees safe by proactive implementation of vigorous sanitation & cleanliness measures, screening our employees according to the CDC risk assessment guidelines, and educating our employees on their responsibilities to stay home when sick and practicing good hygiene when at work. Second, to ensure we are at full operational capacity to support our customers as they meet the needs of our nation.
Airlite will succeed in doing what is necessary while continually increasing the safety and well-being of the employees in all of our locations. Please reach out to me or your representative at any time.
Respectfully,
Brad Crosby
